Welcome!
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at Texas Tech University. I am a first-generation Iranian woman who moved to Texas to start my Ph.D. journey at Texas Tech University. I started to pursue my Ph.D. in political science in the spring of 2021.
In my dissertation, I examine the role of female leaders in states' conflict behavior, focusing on humanitarian military interventions, civil war onset, and foreign policy decisions. My dissertation has been funded by the Humane Studies Fellowship and the Institute for Peace and Conflict Fellowship.
Across my research, I use causal inference, original survey experiments, and formal models. My broader research agenda focuses on economic statecraft, gender, security studies, U.S. foreign policy, gender-based violence, and applied methods.
