Welcome!

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at Texas Tech University. I am a first-generation Iranian woman who moved to Texas to start her Ph.D. in political science at Texas Tech University in 2021.

In my dissertation, I examine the role of female leaders in states' conflict behavior, focusing on humanitarian military interventions, civil war onset, and foreign policy decisions. My dissertation has been funded by the Humane Studies Fellowship, the Institute for Peace and Conflict Fellowship, Department of Political Science at Texas Tech University, and APSA Experimental Research Section Early Career Fellowship

Across my research, I use causal inference, original survey experiments, and formal models. My broader research agenda focuses on economic statecraft, gender, security studies, U.S. foreign policy, gender-based violence, and applied methods.
